7. Glossary of terms

Precrease: Fold the paper the way the picture shows you, then open it again like so -> or like so->. This arrow  shows that you should precrease the paper in this direction.

Crease: It is a line which appeares after you have folded the paper and unfolded it back.

Invisible or imaginary line: This line shows the direction in which some paper should be put or folded inside the project.

Fold behind: Fold one side of the project behind another .

                                                                                         

Turn over: Turn your project on the other side .

Press: Press the paper with the help of your finger in the indicated direction.

Open: This arrow shows where to insert your finger and  open the project.

Inflate (balloon): This arrow shows where you should blow into a hole (at the bottom) and inflate the project.

These signs show you that equal parts should appear after you've folded two sides of the paper.

Cut (slightly): This scissors shows you where you should cut or just cut slightly the paper in your project.                                                                                   

Repeat behind: These arrows show that you should turn your project over and repeat the same folding(s) behind once , twice or three  times .                     

Diagonals: These lines are made when you fold the paper corner to corner instead of side to side.

Fold sides to center: Make sure that the folds line up with the line in the middle.

Fold flaps/corners to center: Fold the corner points into the center of the paper. This should be easy to tell because you will have precreased the project and the center will be marked.

Join (connect) the points: In the picture two dots are placed on the figure with an arrow between them. Fold your project so that the two points meet, folding in the same direction as the arrow.

Turn to the left: Fold one side of your project or the fold you just made to the left.

Pull out: Take the flaps in front and pull them into a new shape. (see the picture on your instructions)

Upside down: Tells you when the project needs to be turned over or turned around.

Pull up, pull left, pull right: Pull on the part of the project that the arrow is pointing away from, but pull in the direction of the arrow. When you are done, smooth the new folds with your thumbnail.
